🐋 Yunus inside the whale

1. Allah sent Yunus (peace be upon him) to a big city to call the people to worship Allah. But the people did not listen to him.

2. Yunus became upset with them and left the city, before Allah had told him to go. He went to the sea and got on a ship that was full of people.

3. The ship was too heavy, and the sailors drew lots to choose who would leave the ship. The lot fell on Yunus, and he went into the sea.

4. Allah sent a huge whale, and it swallowed Yunus. He was not hurt. It was very dark: the darkness of the night, of the deep sea and of the whale's belly.

5. In the darkness, Yunus called on Allah: There is no god but You; glory be to You! I have truly been among the wrongdoers (Al-Anbiya 21:87).

6. Allah answered his dua and saved him from his sadness. The whale left Yunus on the shore. He was weak, so Allah made a leafy plant grow over him to give him shade.

7. Allah sent Yunus back to his people, more than one hundred thousand of them. This time, they all believed! Allah let them enjoy their lives in peace.
