🤲 Zakariyya's dua and baby Yahya

1. Zakariyya (peace be upon him) took care of young Maryam, who prayed in a special prayer room called the mihrab. Every time he came in, he found food with her. He asked: where does this come from? Maryam said: it is from Allah. Allah gives to whom He wills, without counting (Al-Imran 3:37).

2. Zakariyya was very old. His hair was white and his bones were weak. His wife had never been able to have children. But he had never stopped making dua, and Allah had always been good to him (Maryam 19:4-5).

3. So Zakariyya called his Lord in a quiet voice: My Lord, do not leave me alone, without a child, and You are the best of inheritors (Al-Anbiya 21:89).

4. While Zakariyya was standing in prayer in the mihrab, the angels called him with good news: Allah will give you a son named Yahya! No one had ever had that name before (Maryam 19:7).

5. Zakariyya was amazed: how can I have a son when I am so old? Allah said: it is easy for Me. As a sign, Zakariyya could not speak to people for three days and nights, except with signs. But he kept remembering Allah, morning and evening.

6. Baby Yahya (peace be upon him) was born and grew up. Allah told him: O Yahya, hold on to the Book with strength (Maryam 19:12). Allah gave him wisdom while he was still a child.

7. Yahya was gentle, kind and pure. He was good to his parents, and he was never proud or disobedient (Maryam 19:13-14). Zakariyya and his family hurried to do good things and called on Allah with hope (Al-Anbiya 21:90).

8. Allah said about Yahya: peace be upon him the day he was born, the day he dies and the day he is raised back to life (Maryam 19:15).
