1. Long ago, before there were any people, Allah told the angels that He would place a new creation on the earth. Allah made Adam (peace be upon him) from clay. Then Allah gave him life.
2. Allah taught Adam the names of all things. When Allah asked the angels about these names, they said: we only know what You taught us. But Adam knew them all!
3. Allah told the angels to bow down to Adam to honour him, and they all did. Only Iblis refused. He was proud and thought he was better than Adam.
4. Allah let Adam and his wife live in a beautiful garden. They could eat anything they wanted there. Allah told them only one thing: do not go near this one tree.
5. Shaytan whispered to them again and again, and he lied to them. In the end, they forgot and ate from the tree. Right away, they felt sorry.
6. Adam and his wife did not blame anyone else. They turned to Allah and said: Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers (Al-A'raf 7:23).
7. Allah forgave them, because He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful. Then Allah sent them down to live on the earth. Allah promised to send guidance to them and their children.
