Privacy policy

Aisha Islamic Center respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it and how you can exercise your rights under Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and Canada's PIPEDA.

Last updated: October 14, 2026

Person in charge of personal information

The person in charge of the protection of personal information is the Center's privacy officer, who can be reached at [email protected] or by mail at 425, rue de l'Aqueduc, Montréal (QC) H3C 4J8.

What we collect

Contact form: your name, email, optional phone number and your message.

Newsletter: your email address, language preference and the date you confirmed your subscription.

Membership, donations, volunteering and school registrations (when these services open): the information each form asks for, which is explained on the form itself.

Technical data: anonymous, cookie-free audience statistics. We store a one-way hash of your IP address for a short time to prevent spam.

Why we use it

To answer your questions, send the communications you asked for, run our programs and meet our legal obligations as a registered charity. We never sell or rent personal information.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to host the website and data (Vercel, Supabase), send email (Resend) and process payments (Stripe). Some of them may store information outside Québec; we choose providers with adequate protection and contracts that limit their use of your data.

How long we keep it

Contact messages are kept for up to two years. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Donation records are kept for the period required by the Canada Revenue Agency.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, withdraw your consent, or unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in every message. Write to [email protected] and we will answer within 30 days.

You may also file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
