Read the story

1. Long ago, the people of 'Ad lived in a land of sand hills. Allah had given them strong bodies, tall buildings, gardens, springs of water, animals and many children.
2. But the people of 'Ad forgot to thank Allah. They prayed to idols and became proud. They said: who is stronger than us? They forgot that Allah, who created them, is much stronger.
3. Allah sent them Hud (peace be upon him), one of their own brothers. He said: O my people, worship Allah, you have no god other than Him (Hud 11:50). Hud did not ask them for any money. His reward was with Allah.
4. Hud told them: ask your Lord to forgive you and turn back to Him. He will send you plenty of rain from the sky, and He will make you even stronger (Hud 11:52).
5. But they would not listen. They said: we will not leave our gods just because you say so! Hud was not afraid. He said: I put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord (Hud 11:56).
6. One day, the people saw a big cloud coming toward their valleys. They said: this cloud will bring us rain! But it was not rain. It was a very strong wind, sent by Allah, and the people who refused to believe were gone.
7. Allah saved Hud and the people who believed with him, out of His mercy (Hud 11:58). They thanked Allah, who had kept them safe.
